NVQ Level 3 Business and Administration
The NVQ level 3 in Business and Administration is a work-based qualification – it assesses your competence (ie skills, knowledge and understanding) to carry out business administration activities in your workplace.
Who would benefit from this course?
Anyone whose role job role includes using administrative skills within their workplace and who wishes to gain recognition for their skills.

Qualification objectives
The objective of this qualification is to reflect the work of candidates who carry out administration activities at Level 3. It provides a statement of competence that testifies to the ability of candidates to carry out these activities.
Content
To achieve a Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, you must achieve 6 units – made up of 2 mandatory and 4 optional units
Mandatory units
- Carry out your responsibilities at work
- Work within your business environment
Optional units
- Four optional units must be chosen from a choice of 30, covering a wide range of activities, such as: manage diary systems, use IT to exchange information, procure products and services, manage and evaluate customer relations, design and produce documents
Method of delivery and assessment
NVQ Level 3 Business Administration is delivered wholly in the workplace, with your assessor providing you with personal tutorial support. Candidates produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence in activities in the workplace. This may include observation by your Assessor, work based evidence, witness testimonies, professional discussion, personal statements and questioning.
Duration
Achievement of the qualification is expected to take approximately 12 – 18 months
