Our Vision2Learn/NVQ Profile

K2 Horizons is a Limited Liability Partnership registered at Companies House. The Partnership is owned by two partners, Kay Potts and Kathryn Hughes. We have a number of large Further Education Colleges within our Vision2learn client base.

Kay Potts is an acknowledged expert and leader in Vision2learn programmes. Her extensive knowledge and experience of V2l includes:

  • V2l centre management/administration
  • Delivering national training for Creating Careers on V2l
  • Delivering national training for Awarding Body staff and external moderators/verifiers
  • Assessment of NVQ’s /key skills/VRQ’s
  • Internal moderation/verification of NVQ’s/key skills/VRQ’s
  • External moderation/verification of NVQ’s/key skills/VRQ’s
  • Delivering staff training and development for NVQ’s/key skills/VRQ’s
  • Development of materials for NVQ’s/key skills/VRQ’s

Kay has worked in education and training for more than 22 years. She has considerable experience in Colleges of FE, having undertaken a number of roles including Head of School and Director of Quality Assurance. She has a proven track record with NQF qualifications as assessor, internal moderator/verifier and external moderator/verifier with several awarding bodies. Kay also has a great deal of expertise in the workplace, in the public and private sector, assessing and verifying.

Kathryn Hughes has a considerable body of practice delivering, assessing and verifying a wide range of NVQ’s and Key Skills qualifications at levels 1-3, which she has gained over the last 14 years. She was “head hunted” by a College of FE who needed her assessment and people management skills, to work with NVQ candidates in organisations that needed “careful handling”. Her retention and achievement rates with NVQ candidates are acknowledged as being superb, and she is particularly proud of successes with challenging candidates and difficult work situations.

Her extensive knowledge and skills includes:

  • Internal moderation/verification
  • Delivering staff training and development
  • Development of materials

Kathryn has worked in education and training for over 24 years. Her roles have included working as a Local Authority Corporate Training Manager where she was responsible for the delivery and assessment of NVQ programmes. She has also had significant employment within Further Education and the private sector as a work based assessor/verifier developing innovative assessment methods.
